Early in wedding planning, someone asked what guests should wear. I answered before I was sure. Then I changed my mind. Then I had to go back and correct myself with 40 people.

I learned to pace what I shared and when. Not because I was hiding things, but because half-baked information creates more work, not less. I started running details through my bridesmaids first, fixing what was confusing, then sending a cleaner version to everyone else.

At work I call this the difference between “I’m thinking about this” and “we’re doing this.” Sharing before you are ready does not make you transparent. It makes everyone manage your uncertainty with you.

As a leader, knowing what to share, and when, is just as important as knowing what to say.
